Bogota Celebrate Two Major Premieres with Maestro Diemecke
In 2013, two major premieres took place with Bogota Philharmonic. In June Maestro Diemecke presented in Colombia for the first time the opera “Tristan and Isolda” of Richard Wagner in the framework of the celebrations of the bicentenary of the birth of the german composer.
Structured in three acts and divided in two presentation, it counted with the participation of tenor Carlo Scibelli, Rosa D´Imperio and also with the special participation of the Choir of the Opera of Colombia.
Similarly, durig the first centenary of the birth of the English composer Benjamin Britten, Maestro Diemecke and the Bogota Philharmonic premiered his War Requiem to the Colombian public.
The work consists of six movements and is inspired by the writings of the war poet Wilfred Owen. The premiere will feature the participation of soprano Indra Thomas, Jonathan Boyd, Rodrigo Esteves, children´s choir Batuta San Rafael and the choir of the Opera of Colombia.
