Diemecke is named director of the Teatro Colón, in Argentina
Mexico City. The conductor and composer Enrique Arturo Diemecke was appointed as the new director of the Colón Theater in Argentina, one of the five most important opera houses in the world, following the resignation of Dario Lopérfido.
The news was confirmed by the Colón Theater itself, in whose directory the Mexican musician already appears as General Director of Programming and Artistic Production.
Diemecke’s arrival at this institution, compared in importance with the Teatro della Scala in Milan and the Metropolitan Opera House in New York, is preceded by his responsibility as musical director of the Buenos Aires Philharmonic Orchestra since 2007.
